Play FC

About

Play FC organises pickup football games in Medellín: you sign up, reserve a place in a match and turn up to play with whoever else has booked. Games run at several pitches around the city rather than at one ground; its current listings include Fútbol 10 at Cancha Benedictinos and Fútbol 7 on the rooftop pitch at the El Tesoro shopping centre. Players rate their own level from 1 to 10 and rate each other anonymously after each game, and Play FC uses those ratings to balance the teams. It is a non-profit run for a community of almost 1,000 members, and match fees go first to pitches, goalkeepers and the people who run it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join a game?

Create a profile on the Play FC website, choose your level and at least three favourite positions, then reserve a place in one of the listed matches. If a match is full you go on the waitlist. You need to sign in to book.

How much does a game cost?

Each match lists its own price per person. When checked in October 2026, Fútbol 10 games were listed at COP 20,000 and a Fútbol 7 game at COP 30,000, with goalkeepers playing free.

Where are the games played?

At different pitches around Medellín, named on each match listing. Current listings include Cancha Benedictinos and the Terraza at Centro Comercial El Tesoro (Cancha 1). Each listing links to the pitch on Google Maps.

Do I need to be a good player?

No. Everyone is welcome; you rate yourself from 1 (beginner) to 10 (semi-professional), and Play FC uses ratings to balance the teams and adjusts them over time based on how you play.

What should I wear?

On the morning of the match you see your team and colour. Wear the right colour: the light team plays in white or yellow, the dark team in black or navy.
