It climbs through the rural vereda of Las Lomitas, a few minutes from the town centre, and takes its name from its long, steep slopes, which test the heart and lungs of anyone who goes up. Sabaneta's town hall calls it the Corredor Turístico Deportivo El Asfixiadero, a route where locals and visitors meet to exercise outdoors and take in the views.
